Something To Sit On

So I finally purchased a couch for our living room. I AM SOOO EXCITED TO GET IT HERE!  It might take 2 weeks to get here but it will be well worth the wait. I purchased this couch at Leon's for $899.00 on sale. Its big it’s beautiful and it was the same price as a regular couch, so why not it will definitely fit in my living room. I ordered it in GLACIER BROWN, which I think will look awesome with the grey, black and green theme I have going on. The best thing about getting this couch is, I went to the restore and found an apartment sized farm house look table for $25. The base and legs are white and the top is light wood like my flooring. I took the whole table to Craig's parent’s house and Tim was kind enough to cut the legs down to 20 inches which is the cushion height of the couch. I don't have pictures to show now but as soon as I get a new camera I will post some pictures for everyone.

Our First Guest in Our House

Sorry I haven't been posting lately not only has my camera decided not to work right but my sister Annie-Megan came to visit for the week. I am very glad she was our first stay over guest in the house but I feel bad I had to work 40 hours while she was here which I wasn't happy about because I've been get like 13 hours a week. She ended up spending the most time with Kane however I did get to spend some time with her though. Craig and I took her too Orillia to go shopping, we went through some stores in Bracebridge, I also took her to the Habitat Restore Building and we did do some gardening. We planted my hostas and the chives my mom gave me. We also bought 10 bags of top soil for my flower beds and we got 4 packs of 8 petunia flowers in purple and 2 white geraniums to plant in my two big planters. I didn't get to do a lot of things I had wanted to with her but next time when she comes to visit I will book the whole week off. But all in all we loved having her here and I'm sure she loved the break.
I hope to play around with my camera and see if I can revive it if not I might have to bite the bullet and purchase a new one again.

Fat Bottomed Beauty

Last Thursday I hit up the Habitat for Humanity Restore Building to find some treasures. There wasn't much I wanted but I did find this little beauty that spoke to me. I only paid $5 for this great chair. The back sits low and the seat is really wide. Any woman with a wider bum would love this chair. I don't even have a wide bum but I do love this chair and I saw the potential it had.

So I removed the seat and began to rip off the upholstery. The upholstery that was on it was a hand embroidered piece in very bad shape also the foam was crumbling. Once I got the cover off and saw how beautiful the wood underneath was I had to sand it down and leave it the way it was.

I was debating on staining or painting the chair but in the end decided to paint it black. It matches my dining room chairs except this is lower in the back and wider in the bum. But all the same great shape. I'm not sure were to place this black beauty in the house but wherever I place it, it will be fantastic.
